Angoris Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso from Colli Orientali del Friuli, Italy.

Tasting Notes: Deep garnet with purple tinges, almost impenetrable. Broad and complex, with blackberry, raspberry, and cherry alongside a slight tobacco leaf and black pepper edge. Crisp and dry with noticeable acidity, slightly tannic and spicy.

Fun Fact: Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is one of Friuli's indigenous red grapes, grown on the historical Stabili della Rocca cru, on ponca (eocenic marl) soil — its name refers to the reddish stem ("peduncolo rosso") that remains after the grapes are harvested.
