Axel Carmenere, Central Valley 2024

Description

Axel Carmenère, Central Valley, from Chile.

Tasting Note: This Carmenere has notes of delicate spice and chocolate with chewy tannins and a stylish finish.

Fun Fact: Carménère's history in Chile is a tale of mistaken identity — grape cuttings imported from Bordeaux in the 1800s were long believed to be Merlot, until an ampelographer identified them as the Bordeaux variety Carménère in 1994. Axel is a sister label to La Playa.
