Description
Casas del Bosque Pinot Noir, Collection, from Casablanca Valley, Chile.
Tasting Notes: Good color intensity, with ripe red cherries and strawberries on the nose alongside a hint of earthiness and an elegant note of licorice. Silky, refined tannins carry nice body and weight, with fresh acidity and a dried-herb aftertaste distinctive of cool-climate Pinot Noir.
Fun Fact: Grown on a single vineyard in the coolest, westernmost reaches of the Casablanca Valley, planted between 1999 and 2008, just 18 km from the Pacific Ocean. Winemaker Alberto Guolo hand-harvests the fruit each April.
