Description
Castello di Verduno "Basadone" Pelaverga from Piedmont, Italy.
Tasting Notes: A crisp, streamlined ruby-colored wine with fine tannins, medium body, and luminous red berry notes cut with cracked black pepper and a hint of rose petal.
Fun Fact: Pelaverga Piccolo is Piedmont's rarest indigenous red grape, grown almost exclusively around the village of Verduno. The historic Burlotto family estate — whose lineage also brought them Barolo vines in Monvigliero and Barbaresco vines in Rabajà through a marriage between two winemaking families — produces this wine in tiny quantities that sell out almost immediately upon arrival.
