Tasting Notes: Abundant and savory, with aromas of tart red fruits, bramble, blood orange, and black peppercorn. Juicy with a bit of a grippy edge — waves of warm plum and black currant merge with smoked bacon, black tea, toasted chili flake, and tobacco, carried by savory acidity through a graceful finish.

Fun Fact: Its name — "pepper and soil" — nods to the peppery character Syrah takes on from this granite terroir. This cuvée has earned a 92-point score from Wine Spectator. François Villard was a chef before planting his first vines in Saint-Michel-sur-Rhône in 1989.
