Tasting Notes: Gnarled, twisted, and over 100 years old — this Zinfandel offers red currant, raspberries, red cherries, and earthy cedar, deepening into blackberry jam, ripe strawberries, and orange blossom honey. The palate is velvety, layered with sweet blackberries, strawberries, and blueberry compote, finishing with chocolate.
Fun Fact: These grapes come from what may be the largest single block of head-trained, natural-rooted Old Vine Zinfandel left in California — planted in the 1880s by founder Giacomo Peirano, an Italian immigrant who began farming in Lodi in 1881.
